Energy Forum in Barcelona

Between 16 and 18 April, Barcelona is hosting the third edition of Energy Forum, a conference at which experts from the energy sector analyse the energy policies of Europe and elsewhere in the world.

Between 16 and 18 April, the Montjuïc Conference Centre, in Barcelona, is to be the venue for the Energy Forum fair and conference. An event at which professionals, experts and representatives of national and international governments will analyse energy policies in Europe and the world, as well as the changes in the sector on a national and international level.

Energy Forum 08 is to split its presentations into two main topic areas: Energy Policies and Technologies. In the first group, energy experts will analyse the sector from an overall point of view; covering national government approaches, European Union positions, the strategies of large companies, and environmental, economic and geographical factors.

Meanwhile, in the section devoted to Technologies the objective will be to understand both the present and the future situations of the most modern and innovative energy generation sources. In this respect, some debates will be about all aspects of nuclear, wind and also solar energy, in order to illustrate the processes leading to the production of electricity, energy for transport, heating and air conditioning. Furthermore, this session will finish off with a thorough review of the situation of biofuels, audits and energy efficiency.

The event will have first class speakers from Spain and abroad, such as Pedro Mielgo, president of the Energy Forum; Ramón de Miguel, president of eBio; Alfonso González Finat, leading consultant, DG TREN, European Commission; Ignasi Nieto, general secretary of Energy at the Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade; Edgard Gannsounou, Head of the Energy Systems Laboratory at LASEN, and Agustí Maure, general manager of Energy and Mines in the Catalan autonomous government.

The third edition of Energy Forum will have more than 80 information stands spread over an exhibition area measuring 3800 metres squared, at an event which is now established as a reference point in the energy sector.

Visitors to Energy Forum, which the organisation estimates will reach 3500 people, will be able to discover first hand the solutions proposed by companies in the sector, their main activities and the latest technological innovations.
