The Italian driver Giorgio Pantano w as able to take the bad taste left in his mouth after the race on Saturday away by getting a deserved third place on the Sunday. Pantano is now third in the overall GP2 classification with this podium finish. His teammate at Racing Engineering, the Spanish driver Javier Villa, finished sixth, a position that corresponds to his talent after finishing 14th in the first race of the weekend. We will have to wait to see what the Spanish driver can do in the next few races to really evaluate his potential who is tipped to be one of the “leaders” in this category of racing.
The Japanese driver Kobayashi won the race ahead of the Swiss driver Sebastián Buemi. Kobayashi benefitted from a penalty handed out to Roman Grosjean with just three laps left when he was in the lead, this put him back in 13th position.
