Pramac D´Antin kicks Hofmann out of the team
Alex Hofmann`s decision to retire from the race when there were still 17 laps has cost him his job with the Pramac D´Antin team. The German rider argued “a lack of motivation”, having been forced to change bike after the warm up lap. This meant that he started at the back of the grid. The team decided to do without his services shortly afterwards, although it has not confirmed the name of the substitute in the next four races.
Toní Elías is confident that he will reappear at Brno
The Czech Republic GP is the venue chosen by Toní Elías to reappear after his fall at the circuit of Assen on 28th June. The Spanish rider admits that he will not be in great physical condition, but at about 60%, although his desire to put in a good performance and get back to riding his Honda RC212V will undoubtedly help him out.
Cheste getting ready
The World Motorcycling Championship has a big following in Spain. A good example of this is the fact that all the seats for the Comunitat Valenciana GP have been sold, and there are three months before it is held! This date, the final race of the season, will be held at the circuit of Cheste on 2nd - 4th November and the organisers hope to beat the exiting attendance record.
Vermeulen renews his contract with Suzuki
Chris Vermeulen`s good performances have not gone unnoticed, above all his podium finish at the American track of Laguna Seca. That is why the Rizla Suzuki team has reached an agreement with the Australian to extend his contract one more year. The relationship between Suzuki and Vermeulen goes back to 2005 when he got the chance to shine as an official rider.
Roger Lee Hayden, the best American at Laguna Seca
The World Moto GP Champion`s brother, Roger Lee Hayden, got the best result of the local riders as he crossed the finishing line in tenth position at Laguna Seca, ahead of Colin Edwards. Hayden competed in the American GP on a Kawasaki thanks to a wild card. He was one of the best riders over the weekend perhaps because he knows the ins and outs of the track perfectly.
