V.Rossi, champion MotoGP

Rossi won the world MotoGP title for the second year running and with staggering ease. Of the 16 races disputed, he managed 11 victories, 4 second places and only had to retire once. In 250 cc, Marco Melandri won ahead of Fonsi Nieto. In 125cc, the champion was Arnaud Vicent and the young Spanish rider Dani Pedrosa ended the season in third place, showing that he is a hope for Spanish motorcycling
