Villagra tests his new car in Sardinia
The recent signing made by the Munchi´s team, Federico Villagra, is testing his new Ford Focus WRC06 for the Rally Italy-Sardinia that starts on 18th May, an official WRC date. The Argentinian driver wants to justify his signing and show the world the good form that he is in. His team mate, Luis Pérez Companc also wants to make up for the bad results he got in his home rally.Gronholm disappointed with his performance
Marcus Gronholm wants to savour a victory again after three consecutive wins for Loeb. The Finn will go to the Rally Italy-Sardinia with his mind set on beating the Frenchman and recovering the lead in the WRC driver classification since he is only three points behind him with ten rallies left. Gronholm is disappointed with his performances, but he has not lost the hope of finishing on the podium again soon. Suzuki prepares its debut in the WRC
In spite of the fact that the Japanese firm is not participating in the complete WRC calendar until next season, it has already started its test program with its SX4 WRC in Europe, to be specific on hard gravel in the south of France to see if it can withstand tough treatment. Fresh from their trip to the Rally Argentina, drivers Petter Solberg, Phli Mills, Dani Sordo, Marc Martín and Xevi Pons went to Amman to participate and to learn about the land where the Rally Jordan takes place. After cancelling his participation in the Rally Argentina because of economic problems, Gigi Galli and his Aimont Racing Team have confirmed that they will not be racing in the rest of the dates in this year`s WRC calendar. The Italian was still hoping to compete in the next race, in his home country, but as he has not been able to find a new sponsor he has decided to retire from the competition.
