The campaign being promoted by the Asociación Europea de la Industria del Petróleo and the European Commission, which Repsol is collaborating with, has drawn up a series of recommendations that will help drivers to use their fuel more efficiently, at the same time drivers will adopt a driving style that is cleaner and safer. So that these recommendations reach the publlic informative leaflets have been distributed at Repsol service stations.
Some of the recommendations for a more efficient driving style are given below. On the one hand you should start with the car; the vehicle must be maintained correctly with regular checks on the oil level and tyre pressure, as this helps to lower carbon dioxide emissions when it is being driven and at the same time helps the car to take maximum advantage of the fuel being used. And on the other, before starting a long trip do not overload the car, try to remove any unnecessary weight in the boot and on the rear seats.
Once you are out on the road you have to try and keep the windows closed, above all at high speeds, and you should remove the roof rack when it is not being used as this lowers the air resistance. In addition there are other pieces of advice for an efficient driving style, such as avoiding an excessive use of air conditioning.
The recommendations continue saying that you should drive off as soon as the car has started and switch it off when the vehicle has been stopped for more than a minute. Change up a gear as much as possible, drive at reasonable speeds and share your car with work colleagues. These are just a few of the recommendations that you will find on the leaflet that explains how to drive efficiently.
