The Geneva International Motor Show closes until 2009

Copy GENEVA PALEXPO

Without any doubt Geneva 2008 once again turned out to be a top class reference point for seeing new products and new cars. In its almost two weeks of duration the biggest manufacturers on the world markets have shown their latest creations along with a significant number of prototypes. Once again the Geneva International Motor Show has put on a great show and may well have become the leading event of this type in Europe.

The Geneva International Motor Show has closed until next year with some very good attendance figures and at the same time achieving everything that was expected, with a very positive reception to the new products put on diplay as well as the prototypes seen. Above all the number of people attending was more than satisfactory. The initial figure of 130 new products for this show was exceeded as the total number of new cars and prototypes put on show was in the end higher than planned.

Mentioning just a few vehicles is a difficult job, but cars like the new Volkswagen Siroco, which reappeared after 25 years, the prototype of the new Renault Mégane Coupé with a totally new look and the prototype of the new SportCoupé Bocanegra, which represents the new generation of the SEAT Ibiza, attracted more than their fair share of attention from the public. On the other hand, and as was to be expected, other new types of cars attarcted the eyes of the general public and specialists alike. Implausible cars very different from the traditional type such as the Pivo 2 made by Nissan surprised the public with their agility and their ease of use when it comes to parking.

Geneva has set a high level that other shows in Europe will have problems reaching, the show included all types of cars built for all types of people and tastes. The curtain came down on the show with attendance at very high levels and with a press coverage that has made the show into the big reference point for this sector, at both European and world levels.
