Porsche 911: a new generation

Copy Porsche

The German company Porsche has launched the latest generation of one of its most well-known and loved models, the 911. This classic model from the firm based in Sttutgart comes with a slight facelift on the Carrera and Carrera S models. In spite of not having received any changes to the styling of any note, it has an improved engine and a higher level of technology that give the car a significant boost.

In spite of not having any big changes on the styling there are a couple of things that attract the eye on the latest generation of the Porsche 911. One of these are the new lights at the rear of the car. These are very large and use LED technology, at the same time the Porsche 911 has some novel features such as the new air intakes at the front end and some larger rear-view mirrors. Moreover the interior has a couple of new details.

The most important changes on the Carrera and Carrera S models, part of the new generation of the Porsche 911, are based on the new direct fuel injection engines and the new gearbox with double clutch. These new units mounted on the revamped Porsche 911 are a 3.6 and a 3.8 litre Boxer engine whose peak powers reach 345bhp and 385bhp respectively.

Referring to the new gearbox with double clutch, this gives a good performance on the 911 as it hardly affects the power going to the wheels. This system was developed by Porsche 25 years ago for use in racing. The prices of the latest versions of the Porsche 911 are between €92 396 for the 911 Carrera Coupé and €116 454 for the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet.
