All ready for the fifth Volkswagen Van meet
The meet that all fans of classic Volkswagen vans look forward to now has a date in this year`s calendar of events. The fifth edition of this popular meet for Volkswagen van lovers will be on 14th – 15th June in Girona. Just like every year the meet will consist of different activities, in addition to the traditional parade of vans according to their category.
The clock is already ticking down to the imminent Volkswagen Van meet that lovers of vintage VW vehicles look forward to every year, this year will be the fifth one. This edition will coincide with the World Windsurf Championship on 14th – 15th June which is being held at the same time and at the same place - the Sant Pere Pescador de Girona beach. This the fifth edition and once again will attract hundreds of vans to Girona, some parades have already been organised, along with prize draws and a complete programme of activities that will fill the weekend with interesting things to do. In addition to these activities which are included in the official programme, fans will be able to keep an eye on the World Windsurf Championship on the very same beach.
Among the new events in this year`s programme of activities are activities specially devised for the youngest at the event. So the organisers have prepared a van painting competition – not real vehicles but cardboard cut-outs, as well as a circuit with radio controlled vans. The programme of activities is completed with the traditional van parade, open-air cinema, barbecue and of course the award of prizes to the best vans in the several different categories.
