Special bitumens for recycling

The special bitumen for recycling developed by Repsol YPF, is a binder, in that it replaces the components lost by the original bitumen due to ageing, giving it back its original physical and chemical characteristics.

The current social concern for environmental matters and the use of natural resources means that the recycling of road surfacing materials is becoming ever more necessary.     

Repsol YPF, aware of the economic, social and environmental importance of recycling technologies, has developed its range of bitumens with rejuvenators in order to optimise the technique of regenerating distressed road surfaces. Our engineers carry out a prior study of the road surface to be recycled, providing a solution in accordance with the state of the road.

Bitumens with rejuvenators have been developed with the company's own technology in the Repsol YPF Technology Centre and are marketed by Repsol YPF Lubricantes y Especialidades S.A.

The binder with rejuvenators is used for the hot recycling of road surfaces and for the production of emulsions used in the cold recycling technique. In the projects that have been carried out, very good results have been obtained.
