Synthetic pigmented binders
Recofal pigmented bitumens are patented products developed with the company's own technology in the Repsol YPF Technology Centre. They are agglomerating products with properties similar to those of bitumen. They are obtained from a mixture of resins, oils and polymers. Synthetic binders take the form of a fine film and are colourless, although they can be given the desired colour through the incorporation of mineral pigments.
At Repsol YPF synthetic binders are produced, under the name of RECOFAL, for the manufacture of pigmented mixtures adapted for use in specific areas. Paving can be produced in any colour with excellent definition and brightness. It can also be used with no added pigment, with the mixture taking on the colour of the aggregate, which is ideal for obtaining natural tones that blend in with the surroundings.
These bitumens are used in:
- The paving of cycle lanes in parks and public gardens
- Pavements and central reservations
- Car park construction
- Special security zones
- Open courtyards of buildings
- Sports courts, tracks and pitches
- Parking areas for public transport services
- Public transport parking areas
- Clear colours in tunnels to reduce lighting requirements
