This is how it works
Telemat is mainly made up of four elements:
Vehicle identification unit (VIU)

1. Vehicle Identification Unit (VIU)

This is a microchip installed in the vehicle which contains all its data: number plate, fleet, type of fuel, etc. It is not possible to manipulate the VIU. It is connected to the tacograph, to the battery and to a transmission coil in the mouth of the vehicle's fuel tank.

Nozzle with receptive coil

2. Nozzle with transmission coil.

In the moment in which the nozzle, which has a recipient coil, is inserted into the fuel tank, the vehicle's data is read.

Control unit (SCU)

3. Base's or Service Station's Control Unit (UCS).

This is a computer which is connected to pumping equipment which memorizes and controls refuelling. It receives the vehicle's identification information which the coil in the nozzle sends, and then subsequently authorizes or refuses refilling. The pumping equipment only starts up when the vehicle has been identified and authorized. The UCS stores the transactions which have been carried out, prints all operations and saves them in the client's PC.

4. Management computing programme

The system collects data stored and communicated by the UCS and represents it clearly. It allows the person responsible for the fleet to control consumption, to find out averages and deviations, to correctly assign positions in each department, etc...
