The most used alternative fuel used in the world

Autogas is the most used alternative fuel in the world as it is the only one, which at present, has the real possibility of effective and immediate implantation in the general market.

The worldwide Autogas market  has been in development since the 70's fundamentally due to economic, energy diversification and environmental reasons. In Europe there are almost 3 million vehicles which run on Autogas and which can fill up in the more than 11,000 LPG service stations. What is more, Autogas is the fuel used by more than 1,400 urban buses used in 25 European cities.

Repsol Butano, by means of its brand Repsol Gas, has been commercializing Autogas for 25 years in order for its use as a fuel in Spain. Autogas is today a consolidated and competitive product.

In Spain there are currently 5,000 vehicles which run on Autogas and which can fill up in the Gasauto Service Station Network, with 24 sales outlets being strategically distributed throughout the entire national territory and which will gradually increase. What is more, 20 fleets of buses, forklift trucks and karts which run on Autogas fill up in exclusive installations, supplied by Repsol Gas. In the city of Valladolid, 100 vehicles from the fleet of urban buses run on Autogas, as well as another 6 in Vigo.
