"Mathematics for Everyone" an education and training project in Peru

Background:

Since 2003 Repsol YPF Peru, with the Support Institute, has been carrying out a project of education aimed at students of low resources, orientated to transforming mathematics in Peru. The Support Institute is a non-profit civil association that develops educational projects especially aimed at teaching economics, mathematics and business management in Peru. A plan to renovate mathematics education in the country is part of the Institute’s frame of activities.

Repsol YPF donates yearly towards purchasing manuals, notebooks and training books for the teachers of five colleges of Ventanilla, where the Pampilla Refinery operates.

Objectives:

• Participate in the transformation of mathematics education in Peru, so as to raise the levels of mathematics learning.

• Involve to the Company in subjects of social responsibility, promoting social action in the area of education and training.
