Repsol YPF

The creation of Fundación Repsol (at present Fundación Repsol YPF, i.e. Repsol YPF Foundation) was approved at Repsol's Annual General Stockholders Meeting, held in June 1995. However, in practice, the Foundation commenced its activities during the first half of 1996, after completing all the legal requirements. It was provided with an initial funding of 2,750 million pesetas.

The setting-up of the Foundation corresponds to the interest of channelling and intensifying the different initiatives which Repsol had been carrying out within the areas described in the section Objectives and Aims of the Foundation. As can be observed, the programs of the Foundation are especially addressed to the industrial energy sector, while subjects as important as the promoting of humanities or arts, largely covered by other foundations, have been excluded. On the other hand, our Foundation will not support the activities carried out by other foundations. Nevertheless, it is possible for the Fundación Repsol YPF to participate in joint programmes of common interest.
