Constitution and bylaws: main aspects
Fundación Repsol YPF is a private cultural foundation, working on a nation-wide scale. It was created in June 1995 by the Repsol Group. It is governed by the bylaws of Fundación Repsol and Law 50/2002 of December 26th, 2002.
Aims and objectives of the Foundation (Excerpts from the Bylaws)
- The Foundation will pursue objectives of general interest and, particularly, of cultural, social, scientific and educational character and will also promote research.
- It will pay special attention, according to the priorities set by the Board of Trustees at any given moment, to the promotion of studies in science, technology and business administration, related to Energy and Environment.
- Also, it will be able to participate in programs as well as undertake all type of actions that contribute to the knowledge, development and progress of the social reality, policy, economic, cultural and environmental, both in the national and international scope
- The specific Programmes, which are undertaken on the Board's decision, will be aimed at achieving these objectives. Programs can consist of direct actions of the Foundation or participation in actions promoted by third parties. The Programmes may include sponsorships, the organization of courses, forums and seminars, grants and financial aid for education, as well as the edition of publications that are considered necessary.
- In accordance with the Board's decision, the Foundation will freely act in the most adequate manner in order to carry out the before-mentioned aims and objectives
The Foundation will project its action on the scientific, research, cultural and education communities, which will be the main beneficiaries of its activity. Nevertheless, it is the will of the Founding Organization that the programs of the Foundation especially benefit of the industrial energy sector.
