Policies and criteria for action
We have assumed as the business action principle the achievement of efficient management marked out in the principles of sustainable development. For this, we are developing a corporate strategy whose main bases are: the integration of specific measures and actions which cooperate with the development of society, the protection of the Environment and the establishment of a Human Resources policy which strengthens the continuous improvement of work relations.
In agreement with this strategy, the Company has subscribed to the ten universal principals established in the Global Compact of the United Nations, relating to human rights, to work regulations and also regarding the Environment.
Our performance policies are from the proposed statements in our corporate Mission and Vision and are guided in accordance with the following guidelines:
- To consolidate Repsol YPF's position in all countries where we are present, establishing long-lasting relations with our stakeholders based on mutual trust.
- Within an ethical framework, to carry out actions which favour our Company's commitment to society which, in turn, promote the reciprocal contribution of value.
With regard to Social Action, performance is centred in the areas which are detailed below:
- Education: with university and postgraduate programmes developed by the Repsol YPF Foundation and other projects which affect primary and secondary teaching.
- Health: We support projects and programmes which contribute to improving health conditions and quality of life of the population.
- Social Integration: through projects, aimed at underprivileged groups, which contribute to their integration into Society.
- Community Development: this is a priority objective in Repsol YPF. We select projects which benefit the highest number of people and which can become self-sustainable programmes for the development of the community where they are carried out.
- Environment: we support the carrying out of programmes destined to the conservation of the bio-diversity in the countries where we are present.
- Corporate volunteers: with projects carried out by Repsol YPF employees who offer their time and effort with the objective of carrying out a determined Social Action.
In terms of Cultural Sponsorship, performance is centred in the following areas:
- Plastic arts: through collaboration with museums, exhibitions and initiatives which encompass photography, painting and sculpture.
- Music: with the sponsoring of classical music concerts and other projects which are valued in accordance with their cultural contribution.
- The Recovery of Heritage in areas in which Repsol YPF has a notable presence and on projects of great national and universal importance.
- Seminars and conferences: through collaborations with academic or technical institutions, or by direct implication in a business area or line of business.
- Publications: through collaborations with academic or technical institutions, or by direct implication in a business area or line of business.
We sponsor projects which can be classified within the following criteria:
- Those which are promoted by institutions of acknowledged prestige
- Those which are carried out preferably exclusively
- Those which are related to the same activity as that of Repsol YPF or where there is an active participation of the Company
- Those which are carried out preferably in places where we are present
- Those which have repercussions in time, which is to say with long and medium-term benefits
