The programmes undertaken in 2006 include a great variety of matters and have been carried out in all the countries where the company is present. In 2006, Repsol YPF and its foundations have spent 25.4 million euros to promote social and cultural programmes, principally in education and training, health, social integration, community development and art and culture. The abovementioned quantity is an increase of 12% on the amount invested in 2005. All told, in 2006, there are 763 programmes of Repsol YPF 's social and cultural action, 24% more than in 2005. 

Below are listed a sample of projects carried out in the areas of influence of Repsol YPF's operations, organized by the 8 Millennium Development Goals established by the United Nations.

5. Improve Maternal Health
 

  • "Proyect Life” of the Trinidad and Tobago Red Cross. Project Life is Project Life is a program for the Prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission. Preventing mother-to-child HIV transmission is an important strategy in the efforts to reduce HIV rates in Trinidad and Tobago.

  • Forestation Programme in Neuquen. Repsol YPF is recovering the coast of the Rio Malleo (Neuquen, Argentina), where 300 families live, which is in a process of desertification due to over-grazing ...   
  • "Florestas do Futuro" Project, Brasil. This program is aimed at the reforestation of the Mata Atlántica (one of the most endangered tropical jungles on the planet) and to the recovery of areas on the margins...
