The production of residues is the inevitable consequence of industrial activity. Among the main residues from Repsol YPFs operations, we can mention, the perforation sludge, water treatment sludge, and demolition residues.

Repsol YPF backs a correct management and understands it as the collection of activities that goes from the generation of waste until their final treatment The goals that are pursued are:

• Reduce the generation
• Optimize segregation
• Maximize reuse and recycling
• Reduce the hazardness
• Establish programs of continuous improvement
• Reduce the risks of environmental damage from storage, transport, treatment and final disposal of the residues        

Amongst these actions, the priority of the company is to minimize at origin, bearing in mind the product life cycle and avoiding, when it is possible, the "end of line" treatments. All of this is presented in the corporate normative of the company, which is applied in all the countries where it operates.
