Repsol YPF health, safety and environment policy

Repsol YPF is committed to conducting its activities in a manner that incorporates
as core values safety, people’s health and environmental protection.

To achieve this commitment Repsol YPF will be guided by the following principles:

.  Leadership and integrated management
The Board of Directors shall lead health, safety and environmental programs, and allocate the necessary resources making sure that all employees are aware of and work in accordance with the established principles.

Line Management shall integrate health, safety and environmental protection principles into the business and shall be responsible for their implementation and for the achievement of goals and objectives.

. Inclusion of health, safety and environmental criteria in the complete business cycle.
Repsol YPF shall apply health, safety and environmental criteria in its strategy, in all aspects and throughout the life cycle of its business activities. The objective is to prevent personal injuries, asset damage and minimise any effects on the environment and on climate change while respecting local bio-diversity and local communities.

. Compliance with standards
Repsol YPF shall comply with all local applicable regulatory requirements and shall define the internal practices and standards that may be necessary. These standards and practices covering health, safety and the environment shall be common across all geographic areas, no matter where activities are being carried out.

Repsol YPF shall design and plan its strategies taking into account the trends in legislation and international standards.

. Continued improvement
Repsol YPF shall systematically establish goals and objectives for continuous improvement in health, safety and environmental protection. Performance against these objectives shall be evaluated and the necessary corrective measures applied in order to achieve the established goals.

Repsol YPF shall actively research new technical solutions and approaches concerning
health, safety and environmental issues.

. Communication and community relations.
Repsol YPF shall maintain regular communication with interest groups and shall work with the community, sharing its knowledge and reporting its performance and the effect of its activities and products upon people and the environment, in a trustworthy and transparent manner. 

All Repsol YPF employees, no matter what their position or geographic location, are responsible for their own safety and shall contribute as an individual and
collectively, to health, safety and environmental performance. 

Repsol YPF considers that “Complying with and ensuring the fulfilment of this Policy” is the responsibility of everyone who takes part in its activities.
