At Repsol YPF training forms an integral part of the broader scheme of Human Resources development aimed at identifying and building on the abilities, activities and knowledge which are required in each one of our business areas and which allow us to successfully deal with market challenges.

It suppoprts and facilitates the preparation of people, enabling them to adapt to cultural, organizational and technological changes. The use of new information technology in the processes and training activities (basically through Aula Repsol teletraining site), together with the identification of knowledge related to big business areas, allows more efficient training and development of people, as well as a more solid base for efficient knowledge management at Repsol YPF. Aula Repsol is accessible through the "portal of the employee", included in RepsolNet  (Repsol YPF Intranet Corporative).

Training is not the exclusive responsibility of the Human Resources department. On the contrary, training is principally a committment to be taken on by employees, managers and directors themselves. The latter should lay the foundations and facilitate the resources in such a way that employees have the chance to further their professional development.

Training is a means to an end rather than an end in itself. In this sense, training means developing the abilities and knowledge to be put to use at work and which contribute to an improved performance. This is why, at Repsol YPF, training is not thought of as an individual accumulation of knowledge and special attention is paid to practical training or "learning on the job".
