1. Master Degree
The ISE delivers the following MSc program:
• Oil and Gas Exploration and Production, in collaboration with the Heriot-Watt University.
Specialities:
- Geology
- Geophysics
- Reservoir Engineering
- Petroleum Engineering
2. Scholarship types and conditions
a) Enrolment Scholarships: include enrolment fee, accident insurance and meals (lunch from Monday to Friday at the ISE refectory). The residents of the “Comunidad de Madrid” will only be able to apply for this scholarship.
b) Enrolment and Maintenance Scholarships: include enrolment fee, accident insurance and meals (lunch from Monday to Friday at the ISE refectory) plus an overall sum amounting up to €9,200. In the case of the MSc in Oil and Gas Exploration and Production, the students will receive an additional sum during their stay in Edinburgh: €3,890 for students who are resident in the Madrid area (("Comunidad de Madrid") and €2,316 for students from all other areas.
The scholarship has a duration of eleven months, as from September 1st, 2007.
3. Requirements for candidates
• Hold a university degree according to the master applied.
Furthermore, they should meet the following specific requirements:
• Commitment to joining the course on September 1st, 2007.
The scholarships can be awarded to students who are in the last year of their studies, subject to they being successfully completed before July 31st, 2007.
4. Selection of candidates. Selection Committee.
• The Selection Committee established by the Fundación Repsol YPF for this purpose (henceforth the Committee) will be free to choose from the applicants, those who are eligible for the scholarships.
• Upon their pre-admission by the ISE, the Committee will disclose the names of applicants who have been awarded the scholarships, sufficiently in advance in order to enable them to register in the ISE.
• Previous admission by the ISE is a necessary condition for the scholarship to be awarded.
5. Obligations of candidates
• Candidates renounce beforehand to any kind of claim against the Committee's decisions and fully accept all requirements contained in this announcement.
• Candidates accept that the scholarship awarded by the Fundación Repsol YPF cannot coexist with any other kind of scholarship and that the ISE's MSc course requires full-time dedication.
• By accepting the scholarship, the candidates who are awarded one also accept all requirements and conditions established by the Committee.
• Medical insurance: is to be contracted by the students themselves, who should prove its payment within the month of September 2007.
6. Contingencies
• The Committee will solve, without possibility of appeal, all contingencies that may arise as a consequence of the candidates selection process and the awarding of the scholarships.
• The Committee may declare the awarding of the scholarships offered herein partially or totally void.
• Once the scholarship has been awarded, the Fundación Repsol YPF may suspend its payment at any time, should the student not comply with all requirements established herein or for other exceptional reasons that justify such a decision.
